Southwater will play Tuesday, January 30, at
Dr. Ho's pizza. Show starts at 6:30pm. Based on recent experience, get there early (6:30) or late (8:00) if you want to get a table. We'll be playing from 7 until 9. They really do have some of my favorite pizza in Cville. No cover charge. Directions: on the East side of Rt 29 South at the intersection of Plank Road and Route 29. This is about 11 mi. south of the I64 and Route 29 interchange. You might recognize the "Crossroads" building. Note: If you haven't heard Southwater with Mike Ike's mandolin in the mix, you're in for a treat.
Southwater's own Dave Horgan & Millie Ammirati will take the stage twice this week as
Millie & the Moonshine Boys:
1) Wed., Jan 17th, at Orbit Billiards (on the corner): supporting local rock/funk band
Love Routine. One listen, and you'll make them part of your regular...wait for it...oh no!...routine. Love Routine will begin at 10, followed by a MBB mini-set by Millie and Dave at 11, with more Love Routine until the wee hours.
2) Thursday, Jan 18th, at Uncle Charlie's in Crozet: This will be a full-on MBB set (likely with Nick Reeb on fiddle) supporting
The Staggers. The Staggers play an original brand of acoustic country.
Southwater was featured yesterday on 29 news. We were practicing at the Downtown Mall for our upcoming demo CD recording session. The atmosphere was amazing because of the beautiful warm weekend weather.
Southwater will play from 9:15-10:15, followed by Millie & the Moonshine Boys, featuring Southwater members, Millie Ammirati and Dave Horgan. You know
Starr Hill on Main Street. We'll be downstairs. If you're in the mood for a late meal, they have great food. Otherwise, I recommend trying their Amber Ale. No cover charge.
